Demon

Strange poem I felt the need to write for a while.

Demon

Sinister to the bone,
One who can bear searing heats,
Accomplish feats we cannot comprehend;
And you are out of reach

In your fiery pits and yet,
Despite the evil attached to you,
Like a skin of sin,
I almost admire you.

Oh what a hellish being you are!
Do you have teeth sharp,
Like razors that I bring to my flesh,
Or claws to tear at the faces filled with fear,
What are you, hellish thing?

I see images of what you could be,
We will only ever see you in the end,
Apocalypse, Armageddon, Hell on Earth,
When rivers run red and skies become fire,
What new knowledge will you bring...

...Or, will you just bring pain and grief?
A creature of dark origins,
Flesh of sin and sinister to the bone,
Feeding off human misery.

Are tears sweet?
The screams of terror as flesh sears,
As lives are lost, will you feel regret?
Or will you stick by your nature,
Savage, Hellish beast.
